4U Network Rack, 19 inch Vertical Wall Mounted

Light Commercial / Prosumer 19 inch Vertical IT/Network/AV Rack
A need arose recently for a 4U Rack, 19 inch. I scoured the internet and was surprised to find no builds here. I had (2) use cases, a family member’s prosumer home network and a friend’s small business with several tenants. Both would be utilizing it for:
UDM Pro security gateway
16 or 24 port PoE Switch
24 port patch panel
extra slot for future or custom printed cable model slot
Printing Position – This can be printed with no supports with the equipment rails & screw holes facing down.
Material Guidance – These should be printed with PETG or similar filament that will not warp over time with heat / weight. Use 50% infill or greater for strength.
Rack Screw Compatibility – Use standard 12-24 x 1 inch length rack screws with nylon washers. The rails are half inch depth so a longer screw will allow for a tighter hold. I’ve tested this and found stripping has not been an issue with the half inch plastic threads but I suspect there are limits to how tight you can go.

Screw Hole Tapping Required – The screw holes for the equipment rails are sized so standard rack screws will tap the holes on screwing them in if using PETG. Depending on the material you decide to use, you may prefer to use a tap that matches your screw thread. If using a screw to tap, make sure the screw tapers at the front to a smaller size to assist in aligning the threads
Wall Mounting Guidance – Vertically mount these up and down, 16-5/8″ spaced apart (or use your equipment as a guide). You may mount these sideways but the weight of your equipment may be a limiting factor. If mounting to drywall recommend using toggle bolt style on the top holes or mounting to plywood. Do not use drywall screws as they are typically brittle. These could be mounted upside down if your equipment vents front to back.
Weight Limitations – This rack is for lightweight networking solutions; don’t mount a heavy 2000VA UPS or 2U server in this as the bracket will likely break.
